Dr. Jane Goodall, a legendary conservationist who works with MANY species, is afraid of what might happen to the African elephant.
According to her, the elephant is facing extinction.
Dr. Goodall wants the world to help stop the ivory trade, as poachers are quickly eradicating the African elephant.
She states:
A massive tragedy is unfolding in some parts of Africa. This is desperately serious, unprecedented. We believe that Tanzania has lost half its elephants in the last three years. Ugandan military planes have been seen over the Democratic Republic of the Congo shooting elephants from the air. Armed militia are now shooting the elephants.
The world must wake up. Governments need to tighten up. No one anywhere should buy any ivory. Countries must be helped to reinforce controls on poaching.
Sad…even governments are in on these heinous acts?!
The world does need to offer their support. Help save the elephants!
