David Beckham loves his kids and he doesn’t care who knows it!
The veteran soccer star has gotten some criticism for kissing his daughter Harper on the lips, but he’s here to tell you he’s just an affectionate parent!
In a Facebook Live interview during his trip to Bangkok, Beckham defended the photo he posted last month kissing his five-year-old daughter, which some followers called “inappropriate.”

But despite what the critics say, the athlete insisted there’s nothing inappropriate about being a “very affectionate” daddy — because that’s how he and Victoria Beckham were brought up, too!
He explained:
“I got actually criticised for kissing my daughter on the lips the other day. I kiss all my kids on the lips.”
Well, maybe not all the kids:
“Brooklyn, maybe not. Brooklyn’s 18, he might find that a little bit strange. But I’m very affectionate with the kids. It’s how I was brought up and Victoria, and it’s how we are with our children. We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them, and support them, and we’re very affectionate with them.”
How sweet! And at least it sounds like they have an age cutoff point in place.
