Well, it’s official. Megyn Kelly is now an easy, breezy, APOLITICAL daytime talk show host!
The journalist made her Today Show debut on Monday, making it clear she was pivoting from politics to human interest pieces.
For the past few weeks, NBC‘s promotional campaign has touted the Megyn Kelly Today host as a “unifying force” in a time of social and political divisiveness.

But John Oliver is here to remind us about the years before Kelly was trying to be a discount Oprah Winfrey, back when she was a Fox News anchor pushing the network’s divisive agenda.
On Sunday, Last Week Tonight aired a low-light reel showing some of Kelly’s most Fox News-y moments from her years on the cable news channel — and most of those comments about religion, Black Lives Matter, and white Santa would NOT fly over at NBC!
Ch-ch-check it out (below)!
Sadly, the new, non-political daytime Kelly wasn’t much of an improvement, according to viewers on Twitter.
Standing firm that she would NOT be discussing Donald Trump, the TV personality kicked off her debut hour discussing the death of her father, then giving an awkwardly stiff interview with the Will & Grace cast.
Those who witnessed the debut episode said it left much to be desired — and quite a few viewers made it clear they would much rather tune in to NBC’s Tamron Hall over the former political pundit:
If you’re not watching Megyn Kelly’s morning debut right now . . . It’s one of the more mortifying things I’ve seen in a while

For the first time in my life I’m figuring out what else is on tv in the morning besides @todayshow because of Megyn Kelly.

“Megyn Kelly Today” so far feels like this silent scream of smiling at fellow guests while wanting to leave a terrible dinner party.

We don’t need another talk show with this Fox News person. That is how she will always be regarding. Mistake by NBC. Megyn Kelly will fail

I wonder if anyone at NBC knelt down during the Megyn Kelly open for oppressed Tamron Hall.

I would have like to see @tamronhall doing this instead of Megyn Kelly.

Will YOU be tuning in to Megyn Kelly Today?
