Music Stars Want Guitars Made From Sustainable Wood

acotus-guitar-wood.jpg
Not all wood is harvested sustainably or even legally, even when it comes to guitar making!
So several big musicians and bands have decided to only buy instruments if the wood had come from a sustainable source.
A member from the band Guster said:

“Our fans don├óΓé¼Γäót want to see us playing a guitar, violin, or piano made from Illegal wood, wood stolen from a national park, or harvested using slave and child labor and violence.”

The Lacey Act is at the heart of the conservational effort which is an act that bans the use of illegal woods for any sort of production.
Some of the bands/artists supporting the Lacey Act are:

– Dave Matthews Band
– Mick Jagger
– Sting
– Willie Nelson
– Maroon 5
– Jason Mraz

Jason Mraz said:

“Every musician wants to jam on instruments they can feel good about. The Lacey Act helps ensure that our art has a positive impact on the environment rather than contributing to forest destruction.”

There are many many more bands that support the cause, and you should too!
