Was the royal family really targeting Meghan Markle?? She certainly thinks so!
In a new teaser for the second half of Prince Harry and Meghan’s Netflix docuseries out on Wednesday, the Suits alum makes the bold claim that the royal family purposely planted stories about her in the media, but not just to hurt her. No, it was to help protect other members of the institution! And they didn’t even care if the content was true or not. She argues:
“You would just see it play out, like a story about someone in the family would pop up for a minute, and they’d go, ‘We’ve got to make that go away,’ but there’s real estate on a website homepage. There’s real estate there on a newspaper front cover and something has to be filled in there about someone royal.”
Alas, the American actress became the number one subject, and we all know what a disaster that became. Innerestingly, the 41-year-old wasn’t the only one willing to stand by her accusations.

In the clip, her friend Lucy Fraser agrees, adding:
“Meg became this scapegoat for the palace. So they would feed stories on her, whether they were true or not, to avoid other less favorable stories being printed.”
Damn! So was Harry right? Buckingham Palace really was willing to do whatever needed to be done to protect Prince William but not the Duke and Duchess of Sussex? There certainly were some icky stories about other Royals over the past couple years. While Prince Andrew‘s scandal could only be swept under the rug for so long, Will’s cheating accusations were a blink-and-you’ll-miss it affair. Heck, Twitter users tried multiple times to get it going again, and it just went away every time. Hmm.
Is there something to this theory? More pertinently, is there a way to prove it? Like, say, with a documentary research staff?
Even the Archetypes host’s lawyer, Jenny Afia, also speaks out about these allegations in the teaser — claiming she’s seen “evidence” of “a war against Meghan,” insisting:
“There was a real kind of war against Meghan, and I’ve certainly seen evidence that there was negative briefing from the palace against Harry and Meghan to suit other peoples’ agendas.”
Wow. Will she be revealing the so-called proof? We’ll have to tune in on Thursday to find out. In the meantime, ch-ch-check out the explosive new teaser (below)!
