In case you forgot, Hogan was awarded with $140 million in compensatory and punitive damages after the 62-year-old sued Gawker for posting a video in 2012 that featured him having sex with his former best friend's wife. Yikes!

While talking to ABC News' Linzie Janis, he shared:

"[Gawker] was hoping that, financially, I wouldn't be able to stay in the game with them, and I'd quit or tap out or something. I felt like I had this monster on my shoulders no matter where I went."

Poor thing! The former wrestler even talked about breaking down in the courtroom saying:

Nick Denton is NOT backing down!

As we reported on Monday, Hulk Hogan was awarded $140 million against Gawker Media for posting his sex tape with his former best friend's wife.

On Tuesday, the blog's founder wrote a lengthy post on his website where he plans to fight the verdict.

He said:

"Emotion was permitted to trump the law, and key evidence and witnesses were kept from the jury. We have had our day in trial court, and we lost. We will have our day back in appeals court, and we will be vindicated."

The 49-year-old journalist believes the case wasn't so much about the wrestler's sex life; it was about the racial slurs Hogan said in the footage.

"Hogan filed the claim because he was terrified that one of the other tapes, which memorialized his rant about his daughter dating "fucking n***ers," might emerge. As I have come to learn, Hogan himself put it in a text message to his best friend… days after we published our story: ‘We know there's more than one tape out there and a one that has several racist slurs were told. I have a [pay-per-view special] and I am not waiting for anymore surprises….' I had suspicions, but it is now clear that Hogan's lawsuit was a calculated attempt to prevent Gawker, or anyone else who might obtain evidence of his racism, from publishing a truth more interesting and more damaging than a revelation about his sex life."'

The British writer believes the trial was one-sided from the start.

"The plaintiff's lawyers, with the occasional assist from our witnesses, successfully painted Gawker as representative of an untrammeled internet that good and decent people should find frightening and distasteful."

Of course, that initial ruling was only for the compensatory damages that the media site inflicted when they published the seXXX tape without even giving the reality TV star a heads up. On Monday, the jury heard the plaintiff and the defendant's lawyers go head to head over whether or not Gawker should have to pay punitive damages too.

In case you forgot, punitive damages are meant to punish defendants like Nick Denton's scandalized site and to deter future lawbreakers from making a habit of the bad behavior. Hulk (born Terry Bollea)'s legal team pitched during closing arguments that the jury can "make a statement" with their decision.

However, the controversial site's defense noted that the company is only worth

There's only one thing: that $115 million only takes into account the compensatory damages that Gawker did when they published Hogan's naughty nookie night on camera.

The punitive damages still have yet to be handed down, and a jury will next week decide how much to tack on to that figure.

Get ready, though, because punitive damages
