Mischa Barton's 'The Hills' Checks Might Be Garnished To Settle One Of Her Debts!

Mischa Barton

It appears despite her new reality TV gig, Mischa Barton is still having some money problems!
Per TMZ, the MTV reality starlet has yet to pay back over $300,000 in fees she owed to a screenwriter, after she backed out of his movie in 2016. The debt was made official in court when a judge ordered Mischa to pay up that year.
Unfortunately for Mischa, her wages from The Hills: New Beginnings are now being targeted as a long overdue repayment.

The 33-year-old was supposed to star in Daniel Lief‘s feature film Promoted. Lief later sued Mischa, claiming that it cost him more than $300K to re-cast her role and make adjustments to the movie. A judge ordered her to pay $250,410.94 at the time, but her debt ballooned to $310,921.10 including interest over the last three years.
DAYUM, that’s a lot of money.
According to TMZ, Lief’s production company has filed documents claiming Mischa hasn’t paid a dime of what she owes and their attorneys at Mendelson, Goldman, and Schwarz want the court to order Barton to pay off the debt from any money she earns moving forward, AKA her earnings from The Hills!
Yikes!
DailyMail.com also reports the The OC alum was also hit with two tax liens in 2018 totaling over $49,000 combined!
Hopefully The Hills reboot is a hit and gets renewed for a second season! We’re sure she’ll need the money…
