Well, it actually happened. Talk about American politics inaction.
With Congress failing to reach a compromise on the budget, the government is officially shutdown, with 800,000 Americans being sent home without getting paid.
Seen by many as an attempt by Republicans to hold the American economy hostage in order dismantle Obamacare, the government shutdown could cost the nation $1 billion a week.
What a sad day for democracy!
