The new, more mature John Mayer has been back in the limelight for less than a month … but boy does it seem like longer!
In this Friday’s Rolling Stone, the much maligned musician mouths off at his ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who wrote the heart-wrenching ballad Dear John in 2010 about the bitter end of their relationship.
Mayer vented:
“I didn’t deserve it. I’m pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do… I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I’d already been dressed down.├óΓé¼┬¥
You were caught off guard??
She was 19! You were in your 30s!
RS asked him specifically about the song├óΓé¼Γäós line, “Don’t you think I was too young to be messed with?” ,but John didn├óΓé¼Γäót have much of a response.
He said:
“I don’t want to go into that.”
Is John overreacting?
Taylor took no lyrical cheap shots. She never referenced unflattering odors or sexy-time performance issues.
She was a doe-eyed teenager who got her heart broken by a veteran rock star that she thought loved her!
Which artist do U think has the right to be upset??
