Got to look out for those crazies, even if you are only Ryan Seacrest.

Earlier this week, Ryan was approached by a man for an autograph outside of the Children's Hospital of Orange County. Ryan was nice enough to take the time out for the guy, but that didn't seem to be enough for him.

The man started to follow Ryan to his car and getting a little too close for comfort. Ryan's security team began to ask the man to leave when an argument ensued and the man started a full fledged fight. The guard then found a switchblade on his person and the man was promptly arrested.

The attacker is currently in jail on charges of assault, battery and possession of a switchblade.

We don't see why anyone would get in such a tizzy over Ryan, but thank goodness he had a team of security with him. He's way too petite and fragile to be fighting his own battles.

We wonder how many jobs they have between them!

As previously reported, Ellen DeGeneres will be replacing Paula Abdul as American Idol judge, so it seems apropos that the funnywoman found time to call her new costar, Ryan Seacrest on Thursday to chat On Air.

Here are some HIGHlights:

On her qualifications for being a judge:
"The people are the ones that choose the American Idol. Ultimately it doesn't come down to some expert in the music industry, it comes down to everybody at home that says 'that's the person I relate to, that's the person that I'm going to buy music from'."

On her judging style:
"I'm not going to be mean, I hate when Simon [Cowell] is that mean. You can be constructive and criticize somebody that's helpful instead of mean spirited."

On Paula Abdul's departure:
"I hope Paula [Abdul] is okay with it. I don't want anybody to think I took Paula's job away. I feel like she was gone and then everybody was looking for somebody else, then I stepped in. I certainly don't want to be that person that is the evil taking Paula's job away."

Paula isn't even paying attention to all the press!

She's probably drugged herself unconscious resting!

Oh boy, here we go.

King Spencer Pratt is in an all out verbal and Twitter war with Ryan Seacrest.

The King was outraged Wednesday morning after a segment on Seacrest's radio show when Ryan allegedly said if he could tase any reality star, he would choose Heidi Montag.

While we'd prefer to mute Heidi, we can see where Seacrest is coming from. Maybe a light tase could have helped her HOrrendous performance at the Miss Universe Pageant.

We're sure Seacrest meant no harm in his statement. And we bet if Seacrest could change his answer, he would definitely say Spencer now.

Being the attention whore that he is, Spencer went straight to Us Weekly with a response:

"I'm disgusted and horrified that Ryan Seacrest would find it amusing and entertaining to have his listeners call in about tasing anyone. What's next, Ryan — guns and knives? Waterboarding? It is irresponsible and offensive for someone with your platform to promote violence on this level.

For someone who produces reality content, I'm shocked that you'd encourage people to tase reality stars. Would it be funny to you if one of your Kardashians got tased? Is that how you treat your talent, Ryan? Finding humor in violence is disgusting.

For someone who pretends to be mister clean-cut America, you really should be ashamed. Any reasonable person knows that a taser isn't a Super Soaker and can cause immediate death. I expect an apology not to just us, but to people everywhere for using your public voice to spread violence."

And keeping in true Spencer Pratt fashion, we're sure he'll be milking this for all it's worth.

Translation: This is far from over.

Since this whole taser-gate started this morning Spencer has tiled Ryan Secrest's picture, as a child, across his Twitter page and has been tweeting non-stop! That's what every King would do, right?

Ryan has kept quiet since Spencer's explosive attack. We're curious to see how all of this plays out!

We're not surprised!

According to Life & Style, Paula Abdul turned down $8 million to return to the judging table on American Idol!

Seriously?!?

"Paula had demanded a raise from $8 million to $12 million to stay on as a judge on Idol. And her management took a tough line with the show's bosses and refused to negotiate," said an insider.

She was shocked when she didn't get her way!

"Paula's managers issued a statement in July saying Paula hadn't been offered a deal at all, which only inflamed the situation," continued the source. "After that, the relations between both sides deteriorated to the point where Paula's management was slamming the phone down on Idol staff."

The former judge is said to be devastated because her colleagues Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest have huge contracts!

The source adds that "Poor Paula has been having daily meltdowns over the negotiations and has been left feeling hurt and abandoned by her Idol colleagues."

We'll miss you Paula. Just don't hit the bottle, hun!!

We're sure you'll make $8 million somehow.

We know most American Idol fans are feeling the sting of bitterness at the news that Paula Abdul is leaving the show.

We have yet to hear how the other judges feel about the change, but thanks to Twitter, we can comment on how Ryan Seacrest took the news.

Late last night, the Idol host tweeted:

"about to go to sleep when I started seeing my blackberry blow up. I have read what u have read and I am shocked and saddened about paula"

We gather not saddened enough to lend back some of your millions to make it work for Paula to come back though.

He then hopped back on Twitter this morning to say more kind words about Paula. Too bad he couldn't muster to spell her name correctly:

"Idol and the cast have grown with each other over the last 8 seasons..I can't imagine the panel without puala. She's a star @ a great friend"

And finally, it should be a comfort for us all that our Abdrool can still lean on some of her Idol family for support:

"Spoke to randy..hope to speak with paula privately overnight."

Well, at least he spelled her name right this time.

Ryan Seacrest was spotted leaving Spago restaurant with Larry King on Tuesday. With his upgrade in paycheck, he's definitely made an upgrade in fashion and in company. Sort of.

What could they have been talking about during this power lunch? We think perhaps a hand off: Get ready for Ryan Seacrest Live.

It looks like he got a little bit more than he bargained for with good old Larry there. King felt it was fine to get friendly with Ryan right in front of the photogs.

Oh, what sweet nothings did he whisper in Ryan's ear to make him look so blissful?

Both Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest are more than positive Paula Abdul will be returning to American Idol next season, contrary to previous reports.

Paula's camp told the media this weekend that the Idol judge has yet to receive a contract for season nine of the show from production heads 19 Entertainment and FremantleMedia, but her AI co-stars have got Abdrool's back!

Says Simon: "She'll be fine. She'll be on the show. I don't get a lot of say. I've just made it clear that I want Paula on the show. Full stop."

Seacrest has piped up too, telling reporters, "I think as far as I know you'll see everybody back. I hope so."

Do U think Paula will be made an offer???

Ryan Seacrest is gonna make some gold-digger a very happy lady!

It was announced this morning that the American Idol host has TRIPLED his paycheck with the reality show and signed a new three year contract, making him exclusive to CKX for any TV work, they are the parent company of 19 Entertainment, which produces A.I.

How much is triple do you ask: $15 million!!!

In total, that is a $45 million dollar deal.

Yowzers!

But then again, he still isn't making anything near what Simon Cowell racks in!

Still no word on the contracts of Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, or Abdrool.
