Amanda Bynes’ Parents Reportedly NOT Considering Another Conservatorship Following Psychotic Episode

Amanda Bynes Conservatorship Ends TOMORROW!!

Amanda Bynes’ future is in flux.

Early Sunday morning, the former Nickelodeon child star was placed on another psychiatric hold after being spotted roaming the streets of downtown Los Angeles completely naked. As we reported, it was the 36-year-old herself who took control over the situation — per a TMZ report, she flagged down a passing car and explained to the driver she was recovering from a psychotic episode and needed help. She then called 911 herself and was taken into the police station by authorities where a psych team was ready to evaluate her, ultimately placing her on a 5150 psychiatric hold, which is typically resorted to when an adult shows signs of being a threat to themselves and/or others.

However, as of now, it would seem her 5150 is the only hold-like situation she’ll be in.

According to TMZ, the Sydney White star’s parents are not considering placing her in another conservatorship — but worry is still in the air. An insider told the outlet that Lynn and Rick Bynes, Amanda’s parents, are very concerned for their daughter’s physical and mental state after Sunday, but actually view her latest ordeal as a deviation from the status quo.

Amanda has apparently been living by herself, in her own house, while taking cosmetology classes — which she seemed to be thriving in — and appeared stable until more recently. The source added that part of the Easy A star’s parents’ reason for not wanting to place her in another conservatorship is because of the self-awareness and initiative she showed to recognize she needed help during her episode. However, as we reported Monday, the Big Fat Liar star apparently had a “startling and dramatic weight loss over the last few months,” likely as a result of drug abuse… Namely, Adderall, which has a known side effect of weight loss.

This all comes nearly one year to the DAY of Amanda being released from her prior nine-year-long conservatorship, which began in 2013. Leading up to that, she spent years in rehab and mental health facilities getting the help she needs to live independently. Last February, a psychiatrist signed off on her desire to be released, stating in a “capacity declaration” to court:

“Ms. Bynes has no apparent impairment in alertness and attention, information and processing, or ability to modulate mood and affect, and suffers no thought disorders.”

Her parents were luckily on board with the ruling, and have seemingly been very supportive of their daughter’s well-being. We hope this was just a lapse in an otherwise positive lifestyle change, and that Amanda can get the help she needs to regain control over her day to day life so more dramatic measures don’t have to be taken.
