There's plenty of room in the skies for airline controversies!

American Airlines temporarily stole the spotlight from United after a pastor claimed he was blocked from a flight just because he's Korean.

TMZ reports Benny Shin filed a lawsuit against AA on Thursday, just a few hours after the injured Dr. David Dao's lawyers held a press conference announcing he would probably be filing a mega lawsuit against United.

Not the best week for airlines… or travel in general.

The 75-year-old alleges he was waiting to board a flight from Dallas to Corpus Christi in June 2016 when the gate agent refused to let him on the plane — even though he paid for his flight and had a seat assignment.

According to the documents, Shin says "5-7 white passengers behind him" were allowed on board.

While American did give him a voucher for a next day flight, Shin says the experience left him feeling humiliated, embarrassed, and scared. He plans to sue for at least $6 million.

We don't have to wonder what might have happened if the passenger refused to be re-accommodated to a later flight.

United Airlines is like, really, really sorry, you guys.

As you know, David Dao's legal reps and daughter, Crystal Pepper, held a lengthy press conference on Thursday addressing the doctor's plan of action after he was violently dragged off an overbooked flight on Sunday — and basically, a huge lawsuit is headed the defamed airline's way sooner rather than later.

In response to Thursday's media frenzy, the company released yet ANOTHER public statement apologizing for everything that went down, while summarizing the steps they're gonna take to get their shit together.

Interestingly, at the end of the message, United claims "CEO Oscar Munoz and the company called Dr. Dao on numerous occasions to express our heartfelt and deepest apologies" — which Dao's lawyer adamantly denied ever happening in the presser early today.

Is it life imitating art? Or art trying like hell not to imitate life because life is too damn depressing??

On Veep, Julia Louis-Dreyfus plays a Vice President who became President despite being largely unqualified and hilariously self-centered.

Sound familiar? It did to David Mandel as well.
